- Reverse T3 (RT3) — an inactive form that can block T3 receptors; elevated levels may indicate thyroid hormone is being produced but not properly utilized
- TPO Antibodies and TgAb — markers of autoimmune thyroid activity, essential for identifying Hashimoto's
Not all physicians will order this panel by default, and insurance coverage varies. Some patients find it useful to work with an endocrinologist or an integrative medicine physician who is familiar with the limitations of TSH-only testing. Bringing specific questions to your appointment—rather than simply describing symptoms—can shift the clinical conversation meaningfully.
When Results Come Back "Normal"
Receiving a normal TSH result while continuing to experience symptoms does not necessarily mean thyroid dysfunction has been ruled out.
